We’re excited to announce that we received additional sponsorship for Asia Tour 2015 and now we have 15 additional hardware startup/creator spots on the tour, total of 30. On the tour, participants will have the opportunity to visit assembly lines, meet 300 experts from the manufacturing and supply chain industry, and gain insights into the market for smart, connected devices for the Chinese consumer. The deadline to apply is July 31. You can find more information and apply here.

We love the innovative people who are creating devices that change the way we live and keep us connected. To help hardware creators bring their ideas to life and to market, we built the HWTrek platform and Project Development Hub to make the connections with trusted manufacturers and supply chain experts that make this happen. This, too, is what Asia Tour is all about.

We’ve recently interviewed a few of the participants from last year’s tour. Here’s what they had to say.

Michael Kasparian

Two of the biggest takeaways were networking with some very smart people in a similar space, and getting to see the technology and manufacturing landscape in China: the largest manufacturers, smaller, more niche suppliers, and everything in-between,” said Mike Kasparian, CTO and co-founder of Atlas Wearables. Adam Kell

Adam Kell, Co-founder of Stower, “It was great to be in a group of peers who were all in a similar place on the path along hardware development. The “ground-floor” intro/tour of the HWTrek partners was also quite unprecedented in my experience as a scrappy hardware entrepreneur.” The rest of the interview will be published tomorrow.

The HWTrek team is busy planning the tour. In the meantime, we’d like to share a tentative agenda, we’ll be publish the full details soon:
